Tears for fears

Tears for Fears is het door Roland Orzabal en Curt Smith gevormde duo dat in 1985 doorbrak met de single Shout van hun tweede album: Songs from the Big Chair.

Er is geen muziek die zo verbonden is met de jaren tachtig als de licht overgeproduceerde catchy synth popmuziek van Tears for Fears. Vanaf het eerste moment was duidelijk dat deze band een echte hitmachine was.

Waar het eerste album The Hurting al goed ontvangen werd, daar bracht het album Songs from the Big Chair internationale faam. Faam die alleen maar groter werd met hun derde album The Seeds of Love.

Na drie gezamenlijke albums gingen Roland Orzabal en Curt Smith wegens artistieke meningsverschillen uit elkaa, om in 2004 weer een gezamenlijk album te maken met de toepasselijke titel Everybody Loves a Happy Ending.
